The position requires a PGY1 Residency and will actively participate in rounds for both ICU and other unit(s) as needed. In this position, you will serve as a clinical resource for providers and staff. You will also assist with antimicrobial stewardship program efforts, in addition to other listed duties and responsibilities that are central to our clinical pharmacy program.
This position is full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that primarily works day shift with an evening shift component and a weekend/holiday requirement; currently every 3rd weekend and 2-3 holiday shifts per year.

Education and experience requirements:
- BS degree in Pharmacy required
- PharmD degree preferred
- ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required; equivalent experience will be considered (3 years of acute care hospital experience)
- Current/eligible for licensure in the state of Maryland
- Board certification preferred
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate drug efficacy, document drug use patterns, monitor therapeutic goals and outcomes, review for contraindications/precautions, drug–drug, drug-food, drug-laboratory, and drug-disease state potentials as well as provide verbal and written consultations concerning drug therapy as requested.
- Evaluate appropriate laboratory tests necessary to monitor and support the patient’s drug therapy as well as document recommendations, interventions, and services rendered as appropriate.
- Report, record, assess, and evaluate adverse drug reactions.
- Provide accurate, timely, and cost-effective drug information to medical, pharmacy, nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for the staff pharmacist.
- Support and assist interdepartmental projects such as MUEs, P&T drug monographs, newsletter articles and performance improvement activities.
- Provide informative sessions or materials to patient groups or healthcare professionals as needed.
- Serve as a preceptor for both pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.
